TaskFace

TaskFace keeps the top items of the built-in Reminders app on your Apple Watch face, all the time. Just raise your wrist to see what to do next.

Getting started

  1. Open TaskFace on iPhone and allow access to Reminders.
  2. On Apple Watch, touch and hold the watch face → Edit → put “TaskFace” in a rectangular slot.
Supported faces: Modular / Modular Compact / Infograph Modular
  3. Drag items in the list on iPhone to reorder them. The top items appear on the watch face (up to 4 lines).

Keep it up to date automatically (optional, one time)

To refresh the watch face whenever you close Reminders, create one Shortcuts automation.

  1. Shortcuts app → Automation tab → “+” at the top right
  2. App → check “Reminders” → “Is Closed”
  3. Choose “Run Immediately” → Next
  4. Search for the action “Update TaskFace”, add it → Done

Even without this, tapping the complication updates it on the spot.

FAQ

The watch face doesn’t change

Tap the complication to open the Watch app; it asks iPhone for the latest items. If it still looks old, remove the complication from its slot and add it again.

I reordered items in Reminders, but the order is different

Apps can’t read the manual order of the Reminders app (Apple doesn’t provide it). TaskFace uses priority as the order. When you drag items inside TaskFace, the order is saved as priority, which the Reminders app shows as “!” marks.

I want to show calendar events too

On iPhone, choose how many lines to show and how many of them are for events. Events in the next 24 hours appear, and each stays for 1 hour after it starts. All-day events fill spare lines (you can turn this off). Holidays are not shown.

I don’t have an Apple Watch

The iPhone Home Screen widget shows the same list.

Your data

TaskFace only uses the reminders and calendars on your iPhone. The app stores nothing of its own, and there is no developer server. It never connects to the internet, and there are no in-app purchases. See the Privacy Policy for details.
